This page creates a simple, ephemeral, encrypted
chat room which does not require an account, a
phone number, or a separate app. Just create a
room and share the link to invite (up to six
people per room). Audio and video calls, file
sharing, and screen sharing are also supported.
Type /help in
the message box once you have joined to list
the available slash commands, which include:
/name to
change your display name,
/image to
share an inline image,
/file to
share a file (only accept files from people
you trust),
/call to
start an audio call with the room
(/hup to
hang up, and
/mute to
toggle your microphone),
/gltf to
open the 3D model viewer,
/pdf to
open the shared PDF viewer,
/screen to
share your screen with the room
(/screen off
to stop),
/video to
start a video call (camera and microphone)
with the room
(/video off
to turn it off),
/css to
set custom CSS for your chat view,
/theme to
apply a built-in theme (artemis, galaxy,
mountains, or flowers),
/lock to
prevent new peers from joining the room
(/unlock to
allow them again),
/faq to
open the frequently asked questions in a new
tab,
/close to
leave the room and return to this screen,
and
/suggest
to send a suggestion to the admin.
Privacy
Some basic usage statistics and IP addresses are logged
to prevent abuse. Google analytics is also used to track
usage (but Google has no access to your messages, calls,
or the chat room content). Ads are just to help
defray the cost of the server.
